Jessica Simpson's Dad Responds to Her Engagement

Jessica Simpson's Dad Responds to Her Engagement

Joe Simpson, the father (and manager) of singer Jessica Simpson, has always been his daughter's biggest fan. And now that she's engaged (for the second time), he's, once again, eager to show his support.

Papa Simpson took to his Twitter after the news of the Jess' engagement to Eric Johnson was announced. "So very happy for Jess and Eric," he wrote. "May they have a lifetime of joy and happiness."

But Joe may have his hands full with his eldest daughter's future nuptials if she doesn't sign a prenup...again.

PopEater reports that Jessica lost more than $10 million to ex-husband Nick Lachey (who, coincidentally got engaged just a few days ago to Vanessa Minnillo) in their divorce. But apparently Jess hasn't learned her lesson. An unnamed source claims she has no intention of signing a prenup with her ex-NFL beau.

"At the moment, Joe is sitting back and being a great father, supporting his daughter and his future son-in-law," a family friend told PopEater. "However, you can bet after all the excitement has died down, Joe is going to do everything in his power to make sure Jessica doesn't walk down the aisle until Eric signs away any right he might have to Jessica's enormous fortune."

Jessica reportedly has an estimated value of more than $100 million -- and Joe allegedly makes 10 percent off her earnings. But the source says that when it comes to legal matters and money, "Jess follows her heart not her head."

Do you think Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson should sign a prenuptial agreement? Chime in below!
